Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'm not a Yellow Perch Expert by any stretch but I'm totally surprised to have caught my personal best in the middle of the Summer. Fish checked in at 15.5 inches long and 25 ounces.

Nice jumbo coontail Jeffrey hope it will be in the next fish fry, I'd almost come that far to eat a mess of them babies.

Thanks Federico...this fish fought harder than any of the bass I caught today and some of those fish were almost 20 inches long!  I actually thought I had a nice channel cat until all the colors hit the surface.......

Yes, it's a Yellow Perch Federico....they have many names depending on the region.....More people call them "Red Fin" or "Raccoon Perch" in North Carolina.....I was just happy that this big girl liked Jim Gronaw's White Grass Shrimp Jig....LOL
