Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A Pasquotank Bruiser.....1 Pound 5 Ounces and Just over 10"

I took the time to get a quick weight on this guy before release.....looked heavier but it tied the best of 2013 for me....caught another one that was 21 ounces on May 1st....both on the Pasquotank......This fish was almost 9" tall......a beauty released....

I knew it was a bluegill right away and the tight circles continued into the deep water around the boat......zipped drag and rolled on the surface several times before I got the net on him.....I've caught two pound class gills that didn't fight as hard as this fish did........Sunny conditions prevented me from getting other nice pictures....wanted to get him back in as fast as possible to minimize stress.......I hope to see him again one day......
