Do you love big bluegill?

Working on experimentals has taken it's toll on the usually antiseptic atmosphere down in the shop!

Hey Rick, yup I spend all winter down there making bugs and rods . I have another room were I make rods also and nice and cozy warm down there when the wind is howling out of the north west and snow piling up outside!!! Once in a while I have a buddy who lives two blocks from me comes over and we even have a cocktail in the evening down there and look at all the old rods and talk about the good ole days of our youth!

Tooty that looks good compared to my dining room and there is no way I'll take a picture of it and share it with the whole world.

Leo , yup it isn't simple sometimes and you have to remember GRASSHOPPER , that peacock herl IS A VERY easily torn up substance. No matter how tight you wrap it on the hook the fish will destroy it after sometimes as few as a dozen hits. It is highly reflective substance and has qualitys unlike anything else. I hate using that sticky wax stuff !!
YOU BETTER GET SOME HELP FROM JEN NAY JEDI on this one cause she is outta my league and better suited to help with herl than me .  I can't figure the stuff out either and will go back to materials I know .

Master Tooty. I tried that. But it always being a loose loop. The material always tend to get ripped up by the fish.. I guess I'm not tightening the loop enough during the spinning. I may need to practice a bit more, or I have to use sticky wax to hold the materials inside that loop. Still learning to master the fly tying. So many techniques. More so than learning the fishing secrets.

SImple Leo , just wet your fingers and twirl it until you get it all wound up and then wrap around the hook shank.

I'm still trying to master that dupping loop by hand with the peacock herl. Not fun. I need that dubbing loop spinner tool. How the heck did they do this back in the old days when tools were not available?
