Striking colors, absolutely beautiful!

It is amazing how they can have different color variations in the same body of water like that.

I'm going to try using spoons this winter for sunfish.

Beautiful fish! GREAT pics! Wish they got that big here!

Bill, I see no difference in the strains , but isn't it odd that there are no redear in Geneva!!!!

Is there a reason why they are not there?

There are so many color, and pattern variations of the seeds in Lake Geneva that it never ceases to amaze me.....

What a nice looking fish. Don't get any better than that.

Greg, is there a difference between the Cali strain and the Illinois strain?

I currently have three local lakes that have prolific populations of Redears.

Got to be one of the prettiest sunfish there is and the metallic blue on this fish is amazing....Incredible Seed....

Do you reckon the CALIFORNIA REDEAR could survive there? Need to stock them in the spring or summer so they could aclimate to yalls brutal winters!!!!!! You ought to bring that up at the next meeting!!!!!!! You have definatly shown some huge gill and pumpkin seed there what would redear do????

Quite possibly related to the gin clear water, and a Zebra mussel diet.

OMG! Catch, photo, and release right?  Too darn beautiful to cut with a knife!  The blue markings on the head look like they were hand-painted!
