…tough day fishing for the B.Gill… my intentions on these early outings is to secure a B.Gill and a B.Crappie Master Angler Certificate. Ross lake has (2) out of the six total B.Gill Certificates awarded the past (5) years in Gladwin County for B.Gill over (10) inches. The Panfish populations are very thin mainly due to huge pred populations especially N.Pike in all size ranges.

The main purposes first on this trip was to add more contour mapping data to the public map im creating for the lake. I started this project a couple years ago and have not quite put it to bed.

Every panfish looking spot we thru our panfish jigs in resulted in a pred strike. Slip bobbers offered 0 respionse with live bait or waxies so I presume panfish were absent with such high numbers of preds. They were fun though and kept the Ul spinning rigs warmed up.

right before we had to leave we tested the bite at one of my favorite crappie spots and i tagged an 11"er in the bottom of the ninth.

planning a follow up trip back here real soon
