I will try straightening them out for my next trip and see how it works, Ken. Thanks for the tip!

I originally bought them for my grandsons to learn to fish. no hook sets just reel em in when the bobber moves. they were getting better hook up ratios then me. lol

Rod n' reel applications I would perhaps go smaller but as often as I fish telescopic poles you just don't have a shot....with no drag the terminal tackle ends up bearing the blunt whether it's a circle hook or anything else that small.....they do cut way down on gut hooks for sure and that's a worthwhile reason to fish them.....

I use #10 and 8.  Hook bass all the time!

I've had good luck with circle hooks.....I won't fish smaller than a # 6 around here....too many predators that you would never get to see......

90 percent of all biters got hooked in the corner jaw one swallower that just pulled out ... no tearing.

You got the hooks vs biters down. Mike Chell and Tony pointed out interesting analysis that bigger hooks do tend to get sort out larger biters. However, as Tony indicated, plenty of factors do come into play. Yet, using smaller hooks do catch more fishes, but you must be extremely be tentative to the bites. I do have #12 hooks, as well #10, #14, and some rare #16. But, #10 and #12 allowed me to catch trout as well, so, I'm happy to stay at the smallest size as #12, and save some money.

The problem i was having i was hooking only about 60 percent of my fish... and i'm sure it has a lot to do with little fish taking the bait because the hook is too big. frustrating because i would reel in to check the bait. With this smaller circle hook i nearly had 100 percent hooked fish and alot of 3 - 4 inch fish. so many of the fish were caught from 2" to 8" and most were hooked in the corner of the mouth.

Amen on the staying awake part after all fishing is relaxing.
