Good write up. I like to read the thinking process.
Unless I have reason to know different, I invariably start deeper as opposed to shallow

yes it was a very nice and rewarding day out. This was the morning after the frost warning and there was a 10 deg drop in surface water temp from the day before. I spent 45 mins in this spot without a hit with bobber and worm. I was just about ready to pack up when I decided to scratxh the bottom with my bait and adjusted the bobbers accordingly. that was the ticket caught a few approaching 8 and 1 at 8.2" I was just getting ready to leave because I talked myself into it convincing myself that the slow bite was because of the weather conditions.

I thought to myself while I released a few of these fishes was that these few I believe had a good chance at becoming trophies sime day. taking that thought one step further is "shouldnt some trophies already exist then in this spot" this spot is on my favorite lake but the only real easy access is from shore and it is my favorite shoreline fishing spot. it is a 45 min boat ride from the launch and a steep inclined bank making kayak launching for me alone difficult. solution larger motor for next year. something to get 15mph or more. I need to hit this spot hard at prespawn.
