Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Caught several nice Shell Crackers today along with a few Bluegill . 23 total, just warming up for this weekend.

Thanks for the nice comments guys and for being featured. What made this trip special my brother Mike who lives in Oklahoma now got to go with me. We went to Gibson County Lake outside of Trenton,TN about 15 minutes away. The bite was slow so we fished earth worms and night crawlers drop shot style along the banks close to deep creek channels. There is so much cover in this 500 acre lake we used #10 cricket hooks with 10b. test so we could just straighten the hook and not break off so many times. The big fish were caught just a few yards from the ramp as were about to call it a day. They were near a fallen log in 2 1/2 ft. of water. There are pics of this lake on my page from previous trips. GCL is  becoming known for big bass but as you can see the Shell Crackers aren't far behind.
