rick, if youre looking for powder paint online i would suggest barlows or crazyangler. the nice thing about crazyangler is the paint is in 1oz size for a low price so you can try a bunch of colors if you want.
Rick, not sure where you are located. I get my powder paint at Sportsman Warehouse in Chattanooga. Best price and selection I have found.
Great looking jigs there mike with all the greatest color combos.
Mike , I have been reading about powder paint and how well it works..... where is a good place to buy it, Netcraft? thanks Rick
These look great Mike....very good panfish color combinations......you're ready for spring now.......
Hey Rick. I just use powder paint. I heat the heads with a lighter (5 count) and then just dip in the paint. One little trick I use a needle holder (surgery instrument) to grasp the eye of the hook. This makes it a lot easier to dip and keeps the paint out of the eye most of the time as well. I then put the heads in a little oven set at 350 for 40-45 minutes. It seems to me that baking them longer like that gives more of a glaze to the paint and makes it so hard you can't knock it off.
Those look great Mike, how did you paint them?
A few more I tied up today. The mold for these jigs was made by my late Uncle Joe probably over 50 years ago. The style and color combinations are the ones my dad taught me to tie when I was a kid and we sauger fished most every day during the winter and early spring.
