Hey Michael I fished Hardy last weekend and it wasn't the best day out...winnndy and water temps were 45 degrees in most places. I have had allot of success at Hardy over the years. I live in sellersburg so I have about 40 min drive to the lake. How about giving me a water temp report whenever you have the chance.
By the way I had the same luck as you on Patoka lake allot of small crappie but I will give you a little tip on a lake that used to be fished to death and anymore it isn't bad at all Deam Lake out near Borden.....I caught some really nice crappie and gills last spring.
GLAD REDEARS ARE COMING ON AT HARDY. I'VE CAUGHT 50 OR SO BACK 5 YEARS AGO. I QUIUT FISHING HARDY AND PATOKA AND STARTED FISHING SMALLER LAKES AROUND SALEM. BEEN VERY HAPPY. BUT I,M STILL TRYING TO CATCH 12" OR BETTER IN SIZE.
I've been fishing with my dad since I was very young, so I have no fear of the fish, worms, hooks etc....only thing I can recommend would be to have her use a towel or glove, like if it was a catfish...then she wouldn't REALLY be touching the fish!! Hope that helps. Have fun, make memories and enjoy that time you have...I love fishing with my hubby!!
