HEY LORD OF THE FLYS,

When I was growing up we used to spend most of our time down the creek looking for small mouth , and just messing about like all kids do. It was relatively carefree till I got my paper route and had some money in my pocket and went to the local hardware store almost every  Saturday after the route was done. That old ACE HARDWARE store was were I bought my first rod and it was a 9' Shakespeare Wonderod. The old fella that owned the store told me , Kid this rod will never let you down, AND HE WAS RIGHT , IT DIDN'T.

JOHN you crack me up . yyyyyyyyyyyyyyour desciption of this crawdad huntin IS THE GOOD OLE DAYS!!!!!! MY BOYS back 30 years ago used to do something similar in my local park,a block from our house. They'd go up to the Wild Bill Hikock park and take 2 old buckets and fill one with water and the other they'd put over a gopher exit hole . Pour water down one and out the other end would come mister gopher! Used bring em home to show their mother, then turn em loose in our yard.

LOFR- I taught my nephews when they were young  how to catch Bass bait .(we call them Crawfish or Cray fish not Craw dads up here in NJ)  We would go to the local brook with worms ,UL  rods and small hooks and Baseball caps on our heads .After spotting a morning Crawfish in the shallows of the brook we would flip the worm, wait till it crawled on it ,wait ,wait ok its fully engrossed in eating now lift it out of the water slowly ,take off your hat ,move slowly ,put the hat under the crawfish it'll eventually let go and drop in to the hat .Ok kids we got enough ,we're going to Cupsaw lake and fish for Bass now.

One thing I remember as a kid growing up in Louisiana was an activity that ate up a lot of our time ,which we had a lot of ,was taking a piece of string and a piece of bologna  and dropping it down a little chimney that the crawfish had built , then after the crawdad decided he wanted that tasty morsal , lift it out of the chimney so slowly that he didn't let go . This was one of our major time killers  so what was yours growing up?

I hear ya Dick. Its nice to see kids fishing like we use to as kids.

David they have that way about them. They really have us figured out and you have to give them credit for that. I've beem married for _______ and I still can't figure my wife out. They are a vary mysterious breed and you can't hardly live without them.

But John remember all them times you didn't get caught. In today's society they would probably consider us saints if that's the worst thing we done.

Tooty, I did see the ants. The design is similar to my floating foam version. Will use yours too as part of the arsenal.
