My feelings exactly.
THANKS DICK and you are oh so right. Hope it never happens to one of my grandkids and if found , the culprit won't do it again to anyones kid. It will be liberal dose of TOOTY JUSTICE even if I do have to spend the rest of my life behind bars.
I know Tooty I have to tell my grand daughter not to trust anyone and if someone tries to pick her up scream as loud as you can and run to the nearest house screaming. Our world is truly not a safe place I guess we don't know how good we had it but today it's something more kids have to deal with and the woman of today. Hey Tooty you take care.
HEY DICK,
Thanks for posting that story and it takes all back some to a different time! I do absolutely share your concerns about my grandkids too!!!!!!
THINGS HAVE CHANGED BUDDY and some of it's good and some not so good.
We are like dinosaurs DIck and our time is running out just as it did for countless other folks before us. There is a silver lining to this old buddy!
I know I didn't realize it too late, to savor the days of old and pass it all on .WIthout old FOGGIES LIKE US, the folks wouldn't know what the old days were all about. YOU AND I think alike DIck and so do some of the kids on here like LEO and a few others that don't mind our ramblings on about old stuff and times.
Thanks again and this one is a treasure to be sure!
Thanks Rick
Lots of memories way back when I don't think we can ever run out it's something that's with us forever.
What a great story and not only can I relate to it, I'm sure several others have similiar stories. I rmember when! ,
Well I share that one later.
Been awhile since I posted a story but this one comes to mind. Its short but sketched in my mind.
Fishing Luna Pier Mi as a young Lad
The years seem to go by so fast and when I was younger they couldn't go by fast enough. Again I'm at Luna Pier Mich. I usually got to stay at cousin Jack's. We were very competitive we both thought we were better than each other but now that I think about it as an adult we could both hold our own. Maybe luck would be with me and next time with Jack but we both knew the right spots and basically we were probably as equals. We got up one morning after staying up a little bit late to pull Night Crawlers and headed to our destination. We followed the creek back to a lagoon with was fed from Lake Erie where we like to fish. We sat on an old rail road bridge and fished from it most of the time. That was a good spot for Bluegills, Sunfish, Catfish, Carp and Bullheads. We usually fished till about noon and went home for lunch I think we were about a half mile back from the house. Well That day we had a good day fishing seems like we could do nothing wrong. Well minutes lead to hours and hours lead into a good part of the day. We started back home and saw this landlocked piece of water and turtle heads everywhere. We decided maybe we had better stop here and see if we could catch some. I think we were there 2 or 3 hours and while we were hunting turtles the family was searching for us we were way late but having fun we forgot lost track of time but what put me over the edge I got hooked up with a piece of metal it was in the muck and took a chunk out of my knee. Well being as I was bleeding so much we decided to head home. We pick everything up and headed home. With all my bleeding I had a nice blood trail going home it wouldn't have took a tracker to follow me. Upon arrival we were in big trouble. Little did we know the family was out hunting us and we were not were we were suppose to be we were way late and panic was going through there heads. Well my aunt seen my knee and cleaned it up for me and in the process wasn't very gentle I figure that was her way of punishing me for my misdeeds. After getting me cleaned up she called my Dad. That didn't end with good results for me . He didn't have much sympathy for my bad knee I remember it was quit awhile before I could set down again. Was it worth it, I tend to think so but don't remember doing that again. I don't know that there is a morel to the story but thinking back as an adult now I know I'd have done the same if it was one of my boy's but that is mostly do with the way society has changed from then and what it's like now and I really worry about the grand kids and glad maybe they weren’t like me in that respect.
Thanks Tooty, really enjoyed talking to you about fly tying, fishing and the time we spent in Viet Nam. As soon as my new vise comes I will tie some test flies up and post. ALSO thank for letting me know about this group. I'll share the caramel popcorn, a bucket full of mixed nuts, a bag full of jerky with Leo at story time.

NO I BEG TO DIFFER LEO, your stories are priceless and proud to have you in my group!!!!!!

LOL Oh Tooty, my stories are nothing but little spits that flew on the floor. To slobber and foam, I would buckle down onto a nice recliner, pull out a fridge full of beers, drag out a 55-gal container of caramel popcorn, a bucket full of mixed nuts, a bag full of jerky, and surround myself around you all to listen to your life stories from your birth to the present day. Anyone of you will dwarf me into oblivion with your stories.
I don't think my existing brain cells are enough to hold all the info of your life's stories, wisdom, knowledge, and experiences. But please, DO SHARE!
