Targeting Multi Species Panfish

In my location of New Jersey, panfish include a variety of Species. I enjoy a Multi species outing either fishing alone or with friends or Family members. Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Red Breasted Sunfish, Bullheads, pan sized Stream Trout, White and Yellow Perch, Crappie, a few Rock Bass, a few Green Sunfish is what I encounter. All are welcome to join and archive their techniques and Species List .

I have a good Buddy that has a small pond on his property in NY state near the town of Catskill NY. He knows little about the life in the pond, and I am trying to initiate an experimental stocking of Brown Bullheads in his pond. Because of the tolerance for low Oxygen Levels and Omnivorous diet I am thinking there is a chance for survival and hopefully to thrive. Additionally, Predation by other fish and coexisting species is only a realistic threat to bullheads under four inches,

Feature Fish today. The feisty Brown Bullhead.  Brown bullhead - Wikipedia   Two Dorsal Fins? How about One Dorsal and an Adipose Fin.

The Brown Bullheads were in Bloom today after a full day of rain yesterday and  heavy rain through the early morning hours. Opening Day of Yankees Baseball coincided with 7 BHeads caught(an 8th dropped at my feet ), using Floated Jig tipped with Crawler pieces. Reacheable from sure by an inflow Pipe. 1st/2nd week of April has proved itself when the action starts up here in NENJ.

Welcome Mikey -Thanks for the orientation regarding your waters! I know we usually talk Pickerel and Crappie but we can expand to other species here. Glad you're here!

Bruce-Very pleased to hear the Juaniata /Susky Smallmouths and Rock Bass are coming back nicely! This year I'm hoping I can get a few chances to fish the Delaware River which is only an hour to an hour and a half from me. Good Smallmouths and BIG Red Breasted Sunfish. I'd like to explore the Rock Bass in the D River also.

Thanks for the invite John haven't had a chance to get out lately but that is going to change here shortly. I live here in south east Virginia so I am pretty much surrounded by water salt  fresh, brackish. We have a pond on our property near Martinsville Va but do a lot of fishing in our county reservoir beaver dam and the Chickahominy river on the upper James river look forward to sharing some pics and info with you guys.

At one time I used to target them on The Juniata River. My buddy and I used to make a 5-mile float and we each brought home 15 to fillet. The river flows into the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg. About 10 year ago contamination put a hurting on the smallmouths and rock bass. They are both making a nice comeback.

Welcome aboard Bruce! Looking forward to seeing those Jigs! Gotta ask you ; do you encounter Rock Bass a lot ? Very seldom do I see them and would like to target them to learn about them. I have caught a few when I find and Fish the proper Rockpiles.
