HEY MIKE SEARL, IT'S ALL RELATIVE BUDDY and know that many who have joined this new group are much younger than us seniors. But in their minds many of are "OLD FARTS" and have the ability and the stamina to put in a long day of fishing . My stamina is on the wane now , especially when I can't stand in one spot too long . Guess it all comes with the territory .
One thing many of us lack may be the stamina , but make up for it with experience and knowledge ..

David "SCRUFFY" mentioned I think in an earlier post about pulling out old gear or baits and showing the new generations a thing or two bout catching fish the old way . There is lots of wisdom in that statement . I use old gear cause I like it and takes me back to youth and what things once were in this country and the old stores that used to be around , but are mostly gone now ......

Thanks for all you guys who joined and lets see some PIcs Mike !!!!!

Sounds good.
Classic protein scent with salt.
I'm thinking a little air drying before use might be helpful.
Salt them, then spread them on a window screen to air dry a few hours.
Long enough to put a skin on em, maybe do a mess and then keep in a sealed container in the fridge til needed.

I should have noted that I drop a handful in a sandwich bag and sprinkle liberally with salt.  They are not a tough bait but with the salt ,they seem to be a bit tougher by the time I get out to use them. Little tail piece is the toughest .

We have a grocery called Hy-Vee and they have a 1/4 lb. bag frozen for $2 It makes for a very cheap date at the Bluegill hole.

Little store bought shrimp?
I've earn them used as chum for gills. Sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for the invite. At 72 I'm feeling the old fart thing from time to time. I'll be loading up the float tube for a go at the gills when I'm done here . I've been blessed with finding some nice ones. I've been tipping with pcs of little salad shrimp. Healthy bait for a gills last meal. lol    .

Thanks for the invite Tooty......like the group but hesitated joining since I still work full time and travel the world if required and probably fish more than most so the "take it easy" piece don't fit yet but let's do it.......
