Rick.... I am going up to the pond this weekend. It has been 70+ in Memphis but a cold front is coming through. I will get my water temp and take pictures of the pump. It should be nice and relaxing!!!!

Most the time here in south Texas the tilapia seem to make it though most winters. I'm adding to 1500watt heaters at the deep end of the pond. It'll work fine.
The crappie between me and my fish we should keep these guys under control.

You may want to try out some bucket heaters and group them together, that may make an area warm enough, but I think the water will have to be around 55 or so and above for the type of Tilapia you have.

Plus I bet there are more crappie than you think in there, just because you do not always catch them does not mean they are gone. But with all the LMB and HBG you have I am sure they can keep their fry down pretty good.

Only time will tell.

Also if you plan to fish this winter and early spring that may be the best time to find out if you do have many crappie left, that has always been a good time for us to catch crappie.

Mainly for the tilapia and if I can keep water temp a littlw higher in the winter my fish will eat more.

Why advantage would that be? Did your fish die last winter?

Think about adding two tank heaters 1500watts each. Think I can keep my water temp over 45 degrees. What do ya'll think?

Since I noticed that I have babies in there ready to eat, I have been feeding #300 AquaMax again.
