Actually, I'm kind of glad they left. Now, I don't have to worry about feeding them. They seem to go in and out at will. Maybe the cage will help protect them.

lol did you get on them for leaving?

Found 4 cn left in the cage. Either they got back, or I missed them.

lol how they get out? couldn't have jumped out. was the net to big. They'll be ok as long as the CF don't get them. Your gill are about 6" I don't think will be going after your fry. I know that sucks. keep me up dated. Might put a minnow trap and see if can catch them again.

I spent hours Monday making a cage to put my new coppernose bluegills in until I dug a new pond for them. Covered a rabbit cage with net, stuffed the sides with styrofoam, wired the net on, sewed any gaps with fishing line, duck taped the edges. Only thing open was a 12 space in the top for food, which was 10" above the fish. It floats great! There is not one fish in the cage this AM. Is that sneaky or what?

Got some coppernose bluegill and minnows today. Had to make a cage for the cn until I can dig a separate pond. Can't do that until we get a backhoe. Auction is Sat. Don't remember the first BG I got being so tiny, guess they have been growing fast.

Mawmaw picket up plants at Hobby Lobby all artificial. Some Lilly pads and ferns I guess. LOL the top was her project. My pond is small and really didn’t want to build a great big one. Just wanted really to just add some type of habitat for the fingerling to hide after the spawning.
I’m planning on adding one more on the other end this weekend.
