I had a few in the pond before I stocked it. They spawn. Lot of 3 to 4" bass, and gills and talapia Just waiting on warmer weather.
The bass I'm catching are 12 to 14" long.
Pond is frozen over with snow on it. This is Cabot, Arkansas for crying out loud, not Wisconsin! Hope my babies are all right in my ponds...LOL Put 3 inch Black Crappie in my large pond summer before last and wonder how big they should be now? Have not caught nor seen one yet. Guess will have to buy some minnows this spring and see what I can catch. Seen thousands of small bream about an inch long in the shallows, prior to the bad weather Ponds are full of water again after dry summer.
PH at about 7.4 so looks good there. Will areate the large pond this spring and start fertilize too. Feeding only once every two weeks now. Also going to try some Pond Clean this spring to introduce some Bacteria that is supposed to clean out about five to six inchs of bottom much a year and cut down on the rotting leaves and such.
Rick,
any updates on your ponds?
