Where are the best big Bluegill, Ponds, Streams or Rivers. 2 Replies

Where are the best big Bluegills are they in ponds, streams or rivers. I'm leaning toward ponds as the best Bluegill holes, you find big gills in a more combined area. The Tennessee River fishing off…Continue

Who has the best Bluegill Fishing, Nickajack Lake or Chickamauga Lake. 1 Reply

I have to say Nickajack Lake has a slight edge on Chickamauga Lake. Fishing off the piers just below the dams I have better results from the fish at Nickajack Lake. More big Bluegill and bigger fish.…Continue

Johnny your are in my exact AO. I usually put in at either Sullivan's or Raccoon Mtn below pump storage. I have pulled some massive sized Bluegill and Shellcracker outa that river. I fish places that it takes a boat to get to. I have a Red Stratos Vindicator with a Johnson 150 Fast Strike. What I tell those die hard Bass Boyz is "If Bluegill grew to the size of a Bass they would tear that bait caster outa your hand." They can laugh all they want, I do catch some nice Kentucky Spots wanting to commit suicide though.

Just say'n hey, seen this group & was hope'n to thro my hat in since I live near ya'lls area of operation, just up the mountain form Nick A Jack but rarely get to fish the river, mostly farm ponds & municipal water resivores, might be kind of fun to get the chance to fish with some like minded blue gillers VS all the bass fisherman.

Anyone here in the Alpharetta, Roswell area, who fishes for bluegills and bass in local ponds? I fish with a flyrod and Tenkara rods. both a blast on bluegills and bass.

I agree! I did some fishing in the Hooch this past Sunday for trout. Skunked! I am looking foreword to the local ponds, etc. warming up so I can get back to fishing bluegills and bass with my Tenkara Rods.

I sure would trade this snow for some warm weather, thunder and rain

Fishing is going pretty good at Booker T. Washington State Park, Chickamauga Lake area Chattanooga Tn. Lots of good Bluegill are being taken, off of worms, crickets and jigs. If you wanna teach a kid to fish this is the place I'd take them. You can fish off of the covered boatdock and catch all the little Bream you want using crickets or worms,

Wow, the fishing for Big Bluegill has been good this year off of the Pier just below Chickamauga Dam in Chattanooga Tn. Large baskets and stringers of Bluegill have been carried out.

Another good place to do some fishing near Lafayette ga. is Meyers Pond, off of New Home Rd. This a pay pond stocked with big Bluegill, Catfish and Bass that you can walk around, no boats.
