Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Where are the best big Bluegills are they in ponds, streams or rivers. I'm leaning toward ponds as the best Bluegill holes, you find big gills in a more combined area. The Tennessee River fishing off the piers at either Nickajack or Chickamauga Dams is very productive, but you also wind up catching fish your not looking for. Streams can be lots of fun to fish, but sometimes results are kinda slow.

Being from Anniston Al. right in the heart of Dixie, I have so many great fishing lakes to choose from. Nickajack and Chickamauga are both great lakes but a little south you have Guntersville which has a heck of a great Bluegill and Redear fish population. BBBBBUUUTTTT some of the best Bluegill and Redear fishing is found here in the Alabama State lake chain. Alabama owns about 20 lakes through out the state and they are kept up to snuff ( fertalized and checked ) and stocked regularly by the state hatcheries. The Bluegills are big and plentiful. Also other good lakes are Oak Mountain and Lake Purdy around Birmingham and hundreds of watersheds through out the state. Get a license and come get some..  LOL

I love fishing the full moon in may when they are on bed. When they move off I to to 5-15 ft for the big ones.
