DICK those bugs look like killers to me especially the Chartruese ones in the middle that look like BEE ties. WHat's the body material for the larva bodies made of?

Here we have Bead Head Flies. Here we have some Skud Bugs and they were a little harder cause I'm half blind and the are so small.

And here but not last is some large Rubber Spiders.

Pulled the fly tying material back out of the dining room after turkey day. After seeing all the stuff being tied got my juices flowing.

here we have Rubber Legged Dragons and Bluegill But Flies.

Boy - they sure are small. I Wonder what the trout are feeding on
Allen. You must have something they like in you bag of tricks.

Well, trout season is here.  I've been trying to catch some trout with my fly rod, but haven't connected yet.  I can watch them hit top, sometimes jump clean out of the water not 15' from me, but not catch them.  I'm thinking they're hitting midges.  I've tied up some Griffith's Gnats, some size 16, a couple size 20.  Man, those things are small!!!

Allen, the only thing I came across was this link: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/showthread.php?47580-Anyone-have...

I also found that Catalpa Worms were the larva for these moths and these two patterns looked like good ties :

I remember catching sphinx moths once as a kid, they were really fast flyers. The funny thing was the strange setting for this. At night, under the lights in front of the HQ for what was then called San Diego Gas & Electric. My dad worked second shift and I was with my mom dropping him off for work. I'd seen the moths and brought my butterfly net the next time and convinced her to stop for a while :)

I added a good specimen or two to my butterfly collection that night.

Anyone happen to have a recipe for a Sphinx Moth fly?  Or know where I can find one online?

I've been seeing dead or dying Sphinx Moths lately.  They're huge!  About the size of a Cicada, maybe bigger.  I seriously doubt a Bluegill can handle one, but a Green Sunfish, Warmouth, LMB, Catfish, etc., will probably inhale a big gulp of protein like that.
