This was created for steelheads on lake erie tribs but i found it to be hot for trout and panfish, its called a maggot ball and its tyed with ultra chennile in natural white, cut 4 or 5 pieces 3/4 of an inch,ty on hook,ty off and burn ends with a match

Creeks are starting to ice up so steelhead fishing is done now its back to tying for spring. I thought id share this very simple ty. Start with #8 streamer hook, add silver bead.ty in white marabou tail, then wind the palmer med pearl chennile to bead and ty off

I just joined this group. There is a great deal of information and experience here. Never tied a fly in my life but want to get my feet wet. There are so many books and things out there it boggles the mind. I can't afford to buy a lot of different books and training videos, but can manage some good starter material.  Can someone recommend a source that can get me started. I'm into cork type bugs for bream.

Just so you know, I think that as this thread progresses I'll delete the general commentary. Go ahead and comment, but I'll just tighten it up later.
