HEY DICK WE ARE OLD FOGGIES compared to the kids you are talking about . THey have good hands that haven't been broken yet and full of arthritis and so forth and in our case 40-50 years of hard work!!!!!!!!!! I stabbed myself yesterday morning taking a hook out of the vice ! Take it easy on the thread pressure and after you tie a few thousand or so you'll get the hang of it!

Those kids are tying through young eyes too Dick and if I don't have my glasses on I can't see the vice!LLLLLLLLLLLLLLOL you are just starting Dick and don't be so hard on yourself.

Dick, When you are tying foam if you will squeeze it tight with your finger and the wrap it with your thread snuggly  will help with thread BREAKAGE!!!!! I Still break my thread!!!!!!!  You might try using a thread gear for deer hair, I have a Danville flat waxed thread!!!!! Works good on foam and spinning deer hair!!!!! You are more likely to bend the hook than break the tread!!!!! We will save deer hair spinning for a later lesson!!!!

Well so far rubber spiders 4 Dick 0 I can tell its looks easy but alredy I stabed myself, broke 2 threads I think 1 was cause the bobbon was new and I had to spread it apart. Broke tread and twisted the spider sideways went to cinch it down broke thread again so I think today I need to set it aside and try again tomorrow. Thats so lame cause you see these youngsters on you tube fly through them, oh wll.

J Netcraft is a good place to stock up on tying materials. I have ordered many times for them and I have always been pleased. Glad I don't live close to the store... Send me your address Dick and I'll send you a care package with some tying materials to help with your new tying. I'm always trading for fur & feathers...

Jen the lake I went to last was crystel clear could see down 15 feet or better but usually most of my fishing is clear down to 6 to 8 feet.

Thanks jen. I went to Jans Netcraft and I think I own the store. No not really he gave me some discounts plus my Golden Buckeye card and I got out without to much lost blood. I orderd a cheap vise off of ebay and got it today so I'm really close to getting started. Gonna start with rubber spiders and go from there, I never seen so many ways to do a rubber spiders. Thank you for the info I appreciate your 2 cents worth anytime.
