Nice looking tube setup there Jeff! I guess you could use the same setup for your cat. Check out the bigfishtackle float tube forums too, they really have lots of ideas for add ons for tubers.

I may be getting a new (used) fish cat 4, my current tube has a PVC rod holder that I made. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to make a rod holder for the fish cat 4. Here is a picture of my rod holder I would like something similar to attach to my possible new Fish Cat, I am keeping my fingers crossed it come through.

Just ordered my new tube. I plan to use it in my hunny hole. I rarely catch anything under 9 inches here so everything gets released, my largest was 11 inches, a buddy I took did catch a 11 3/4 incher on the same day I caught my 59 inch northern...which I safely hauled down stream then back up. This was only a 4 hour trip just to release it once the dnr said it wasn't the state record it was ONLY 37lbs 4 ounces just shy of the 38 lb record but.. BUT its still there and once may 6th arives off to the hunny hole hopefully to land some good fish and get some great photos, possibly videos as well.

H3s are nice and the added plus of being rated for light rapids. spendy though. I looked at one on sale at cabelas, but the inflatable seat is not what I want in a tube.

Also worthy of consideration is the Freestyle H3 made by Scaddin out west. They are made in the US, 375 lb weight limit and 15 yr gurantee. To the best of my limited knowledge, they are not marketed by the big box outfits. I really like my Outcast tubes but if I was in the market for a new tube I would consider the H3. ole Mike

Rob, you could go with the fat cat instead of the fishcat, it has a higher weight capacity and better quality bladder material too. just get the regular fatcat not the super fatcat, if you want the foam seat. i agree the foam is better, wont leak, plus provides lots of floatation incase you punture the tube!

That's the same one I'm considering Dr. Bruce I've heard some bad things about the inflatable seat version but the foam seat one seems to do well. I was trying to find one with a higher weight capacity. I believe this one is good for 250 lbs... I feel more comfortable with 300 lbs given my equipment and such. One thing is for sure... must go with double air bladders... "Just in case". I'm reviewing some of the comments written here regarding other tubes and hopefully will get some better ideas.

I have use float tubes for over 30 years and have some wonderful memories because of them. My fist was a custom job I made out of a truck tube and crisscrossed some one inch rope. Some time in the late 60's I purchased my first commercial float tube.

In about 1995 I graduated to a one man pontoon boat and never looked back. I use mine mostly in rivers for trout, but that is what I used my tubes for as well. It works perfect on small lakes and ponds as well and even for sneak deer hunting and duck hunting.

It is also very comfortable and most days I fish from dark thirty to dark thirty. I normally carry three rods, but very often 4 with no problem. I use my cooler for both food but have a seperate bag for fish if I choose to keep some for dinner. Here is a picture of my current float boat.

Hi tubers, I love tubin! I bought a outcast fishcat tube 4 years ago and have caught thousands of fish in it! I am always looking for other tubers to hit the water with!
