Currently reading 'The Scientific Angler' by Paul C.Johnson again . Just finished a third reading ,'How to Fish with Jigs' by LaceyE.Gee and Erwin D. Sias. A great little booklet !
I have a Revised edition of 'Trout Fishing' I am gonna re read. I was glad to see several references to Edward Ringwood Hewitt , another Fly Fishing Pioneer , in Joe Brooks' ,'Trout Fishing ' . I have a blog on Hewitt that I will re-post after adding some of Joe Brooks references . I constantly add to this blog the more I learn about Hewitt's importance to the development of Fly Fishing.
Recently read American Notes by Rudyard Kipling. Not really a fishing book, but has a chapter about salmon fishing--late 1800's western US as experienced by Mr Kipling. It is always a nice surprise to find a fishing story hidden in a book not about fishing.
Looking forward to reading them James.Another free book i downloaded on the Kindle is,'The Essential Trout Fishing Guide'.
Tales of Fishes is a good book. Would be really cool to have enough money to enjoy that kind of life. The Determined Angler is interesting being so old. It is not necessarily an easy read.
Some Free Kindle additions to read : 'Tales Of Fishes ' ,Zane Grey, 'A Walleye Fishing Cheatsheet' ,Ben Rieger, 'Maxims and Hints on Angling', Richard Penn,'The Determined Angler ',Charles Barker Bradford. ,'The Complete Book of Surf Fishing ' Al Ristori
Glad you liked James I enjoyed the first four chapters(stories) .Zane Grey lived not too far from me .I want to fish the Lackawaxen creek now.Good luck with your book !
