Do you love big bluegill?
I know this sounds strange, but vintage equipment like fiberglass rods still have a place! We can talk shop and discuss why some vintage gear is just as good (if not better) than the new stuff.

I picked this reel at a pawn shop today. I've seen them for years but never had one. How old is this is this one, if anyone out there knows any info would be great.

HEY GREG, NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL VINTAGE!!!!!! OH the stories that old combo could tell if it could talk! I love the old torpedo shaped handles on these old rods, very graceful and useful. Notice the length of the cork handle? IF you measure it I bet it will be 6" or there abouts. Lots shorter than modern rods !
Yea Greg way back then they made things to last. I think I've got them same lures.
These were my favorites in GRAND LAKE of the CHEROKEES!!!!!! There was an GUY that was in his upper 80's cleaned fish for people when they would come in from fishing!!!! Mostly CRAPPIE and SAND BASS!!!!!! He would fillet the first one bait up his hook with guts and drop it in the water!!! Before he finished cleaning he would catch a catfish for himself!!!! Don't know what he charged for cleaning , but he could clean a FISH every 30 seconds!!!! He watched me fish around the docks and rocks, He said if you will go up to the cafe and get you Bill Norman Quarterback you will catch fish!!!!!! Cost me $1.25, but was well worth it!!!!!!! Purple was the best but I don't have any left!!!!!!
No problemo Dick and enjoyed the pics!
I appreciate the offer on the reel Tootie but then it wouldn't match the steel rod I had it on. The Hell Benders or Waterdogs or whatever they are I got in the 70's. Got lots of Nortern Pike on them trolling deep water. I don't know how vintage that makes then but I also have a balsa bait from that time It cost me quit a lot of money back then they were hot on the Bass circuits. The bait are all balsa wood the first one being the oldest. I'll post them a little later.
