this is probably the best end result i could get going Macro on my Galaxy Note II using open camera and 3264 x 1836. it is a newly transformed american toad at a quart inch in length. not exceptional but good for a camera phone.

Macro is a funny thing. Your toad is a good example but a better one would be the toads eyes really getting zeroed in for that true close up. I've found it can be a choir with the camera's of today with all these auto-focus feathers to get it zeroed in. Its such a small area the cameras focus may be anywhere so you have to do it till you get it right. I had an older Canon camera 35mm which was only manual which means you focused it in by hand and you could focus till you got the desired picture thru the view finder and what you got was what you snapped not any false focuses. I just have a hard time with the now a day cameras to get a good close up picture. Sometimes I may have to take 10 or 15 photos to get it right and most times still not happy with it so pick the best out of what snapped. I have seen some very good pictures on this site so some of use have the knack I just wished I still had my old canon sorry the old camera died. I'll look around to see if I can find some of my older really close ups pictures I took with it. If I can I'll post them.

This tree frog was on my porch so I snapped a shot with my IPad. Holding the iPad still is the hardest part and could have got closer but didn't want to spook this little fellow. He is on the mortar between the bricks.
