Do you mean "Underspin", or a basic spinning reel with a "quick fire" trigger to open the bail?

The underspin

Larry, I replied in your other thread to this.
I prefer Daiwa, Zebco and Shakespeare u-spin reels, in that order.
Diawa here.

I ordered one of the little Bass Pro Shops underspins a couple months ago, using it on an old Fenwick ultralight. Haven't had it on the water yet but will do so this summer or spring. Been concentrating on improving my fly casting. It seems to work well in the driveway, anyway. If you should happen to get one, one thing many reviewer say is absolutely true: the mono it comes pre-spooled with is the worst line imaginable, even by the low standards of pre-spooled mono. BPS should be ashamed of themselves for even putting it on there; better to sell the reel with no line. Take it off and throw it away immediately and put some decent line on.

When I started fly casting (still a novice after all these years LOL) I had the generic combo line.  Recently replaced it with a premium line as I learned more about fly lines, and yup, easier to cast and no more sinking tip :-)

Now that I know enough, I probably wouldn't have bought a combo at all, but of course, it's hard to know that going in. With what I for my most recent rods that were good rods on end of line close-out and the good price I got on the line and on the reel I recently bought (I have become a devotee of cassette fly reels) I'm sure I did as good or better price-wise as any combo out there.

With the small trigger spins, I respool with a limp monofilament. I like Vicious Panfish and Trilene XL, but any soft mono is the thing with these reels. 4lb test is wholly adequate, in my experience.
And I back the 30 or so yards of working line with a load of inexpensive mono.
