Do you love big bluegill?
Lots of guys use the skirts from spinner baits to make rubber legs for jigs bugs and flies. These work perfectly and come in an array of colors. One or two skirts might be all you need for years of lure making.
Another source of thin, live rubber for this purpose is bungee cords. I recently had an old one 'blow up' and inside were hundreds of thin elastic threads. They were in both black and white, too, the two most needed tones.
So if you have an old elastic cord on it's last legs, don't just toss it. Open it up and see what it's made of.

Thanks for the tip!
Hm..bungee cords. That's another good one. Thanks David. I normally use the broomstick heads that were falling apart, or not. Beside that, I find colored nylon twines I normally used for yard works or automotive needs.
GOOD TIP!
