Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Would like to thank everybody who participated in the information on helping me to find a reel my wife can use so she can get back into fishing, something she hasn't got to do for 3 years now. I especially want to thank Greg McWilliams who would not quit till I found a reel for my wife and that we did. Greg gave me a site FISHING ABILITIES INC. There I talk to Dan Badur being handicapped himself who heads up the company. He had a spinning reel and a trigger spin. This was an easy one for me being is that the wife always used a push button Zebco 33. Now she owns a Zebco 33 triggerspin she will have to get use to it but I know she will do just fine. I would also like to thank FISHING ABILITIES INC for answering all my question and the quick turnaround in getting the reel Again thanks to all. Now all I have to get is a new light action rod for her reel.

dick thats awesome bud. i know you are excited! happy to see you gound what you needed!

  • That is a very nice setup. Mr. Badur is very inventive. I take it one thumbs the entire motor housing to release line? Or is there a button or separate actuator for that?

And tell her to watch her finger tips and loose fabric around that belt. Might wanna make a guard for it!

The trigger on the reel when you cast. Then when mounted on a rod the red button which she will push using her thumb will close the bail and reel the line in. I will show a picture of it mounted on a rod when I get one for it. The picture will clarify the whole system. Then there is the fact she will have to practice because she never used a trigger spin before but I don't think that will be an issue because she always used spincast reels zebco 33's and this is still a 33 but a trigger spin.

Dick, That is an AWESOME set-up!!!!! Have the camera ready when SHE catches her first one!!!!!! Or maybe a video!!!!!!!

Ah, I see - I missed the trigger feature.

This is great! I have a friend who had a stroke 2 years ago and maybe we can get him in on this!

Jim I don't know if I gave the site or not. You can look them up by looking up Fishing Abilities Inc. The wife is very excited. She will have to practice with it because she always used a push button spin cast. This one is a trigger spin, but I know with a little practice she will have it concord. They also have spinning which still kind of takes two hands because of the bale. I'll let you know how everything works out when she get a chance to use it. I know if she out fishes me she will love it.

I'm sorry Jim I think I may have cut you short. I don't know if you got hold of Fishing Abilities Inc but here's the phone #574-273-0842 ask for Dan and again I apologize. Good Luck

Got the wife's rod today to go with the electric reel. She wanted a pink shakespeare ladies lite uglystick . I think she wanted the pink so I wouldn't use it. 5' ultra light.

Sweet!

Awesome! We look forward to her smiles with a fish on!!!!!!

Jen that's exactly what she needs is fish on. I miss that chuckling and excitement in her voice when she has a fish on I wouldn't even mind if she got a big head again like she use to.. There was a time she would go with me fishinh at the drop of a hat. We got a 18' pontoon last year cause she can't get in the bass boat anymore. I'm hoping that with the pontoon her new rod and reel that everything will fall kinda back in place. I need to see that sparkle back in her eye and that excitement back in her voice.
