this is one of my favorite shows... glen and mitchell those hillbilly brothers are my favorite... they dont wear shoes..

Lot of folks back home in Louisiana also like to catch little fingerling bluegill to head em' and gut em', then fry them whole until they get very crispy and eat the entire fish, bones and all....Glen and Mitchell are classic...the best part is the show doesn't change anyone from who they really are! What you see is what you get....

I watched just about the whole series, and loved it!

Do you ever watch Ax Men? If you do, I'm sure you've noticed Shelby, who happens to be a CRAZY logger down in Louisiana. I don't know how that guy hasn't killed himself on that show. He uses his boat as a battering ram and recently injured his mate when they hit a tree/logs and busted the boats windshield out.

Shelby just ain't right!

choot liz bith....love this show. Glen and Mitchell are great

I have to say...as someone who lived in that area for ministry work, there is so much more to that life than what you see in Swamp people. I understand their focus on alligator hunting but that is a very small part of it and only a few people do it. Far more fish for crawfish, as I did, andi just wishthat they would incorporate more of Cajun lifestyle into the show. Maybe a different show would do.

Glad everyone likes the show now.

I love the show and particularly enjoy the family celebrations with great food and good times that are part of every Cajun Family's culture.....We got catfish noodling in Oklahoma and Shrimping in the Gulf as well, so hopefully they'll expand their focus as you suggest Timbaux......I totally agree that this is only the tip of the iceberg but I only watch a couple channels anyway so I'm a fan....Appreciate you perspective and thanks for the comment....

Jeffrey, I grew up fishing the swamps of Louisiana, and every year I try to plan a fishing trip back to what I believe it is  some of the finest bluegill fishing in America, like you said ,it's a different world and a different culture.  Ah to be on the "Old River", Atchafayla basin, or Lake Martin close to the Gulf, it would be bluegill heaven, and the food, yes the food,  we could invent the bluegill poboy. Maybe ths year I'll be able to make it down there.    LOFR

Good to hear from you LOFR....I had a great up bringing in South Louisiana......I value the memories of beautiful gills from the brackish waters and marsh canals......My grandparents had some great farm ponds near Folsom and we would be out there every Sunday  as kids catching big gills and catfish on Zebcos and Cane Poles. Parents lived on Toledo Bend for 20 years and that was Largemouth, Crappie and Bluegill heaven as I returned every year while serving in the submarine force......Trips to Dulac for big reds and speckled trout........Good eats and great times......I have relatives throughout the state.....Covington, Slidell, Mandeville, Madisonville, Lacombe, Walker, Denham Springs, Zwolle, West Monroe, Abita Springs, and of course the Big Easy.....Hope you get down there and catch some great fish and take some great pictures..........Jeffrey D. Abney

Those family parties look like fun, they remind me of regular get-togethers with my wife's family back in Viet Nam. I don't exactly like Saigon as a place to live, but the family aspect of it was really nice.

In Louisiana they never let a chance to celebrate  pass by without good spirits and great food.......it's the Hunter/Gatherer instinct........Kind of like a big fish fry or a crawfish/crab boil.........
