Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

 I was with some fishing buddies the other night and the discussion led to tackle boxes. as buddies we sometime borrow each others trailers, guns, rods and reels but the one thing that is off limits is our tackle boxes. Sure we might reach in and share an extra spinnerbait or particular color that seem to be the color of the day, thats what buddies do, but to just let them free range  of your tackle box that is unheard of , to us our tackle boxes are as personal and private as our tooth brushes. I remember even my Dad and I would respect each others box, with some reminders, Keep your paws out of my box, and that would go both ways . So I was just wondering how the rest of yall feel about your tackle boxes , is it your private stash with all your secret fishing baits or is it a minor version  of your local tackle store.      LOFR

My tackle boxes are for my hands only. If someone wants a specific bait or something that they know I have, I'll gladly get it out for them. But all of my stuff is organized a certain way, and any time someone has rummaged through my boxes in the past, it always seems like they just dumped it out and put everything back in random spots. Now that I've learned from those experiences, nobody is allowed to open any of my boxes other than in a few exceptional situations.

When I was a kid I left my tackle box at my cuzins house for a couple weeks, when I went back it was nearly cleaned out.

ME: Whers all my stuff ?? (rated version)

CUZ: I've been use'n it.

ME: No kid'n, you nearly cleaned me out, you have a box full of stuff, why didnt you take yours ??

CUZ: uuu...I dont know.

     I am in the camp of wanting my guests to catch fish and I will always say to them they are welcome to look through and grab what they would like to use. If the tackle box gets messed up, so be it, I don't mind re-organizing. I just want my guest to have a good fishing experience and willing to share for it to happen.......With all of this said my tackle box is never out of my sight, never borrowed out and if there is a lure that is "sacred" or expensive and don't want it used, I don't bring it.......This does not apply to my family, my wife and kids are welcome anytime to anything

Truly a great man to share the tools. I've done that in my past. Reach the point where I get frustrated cleaning up after the mess they left behind. If they need something, the tackle box will be opened, they can take what they need (not my specialty items), practice on their rigs' tying, and I'll supervise to make sure they don't impale themselves or destroy the tackle box content while practicing. Young kids will listen a bit better than adults. Adults will listen better than teenagers.
