Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

As i have stated before, the panfish action right now is terribly slow. I tried with tube jigs and a float, tried for sacalait in a deep spot i found, and got no bites.

Today was the first day I tried the Bobby Garland Stroller jig. I cant post pics, but it has an elongated tail with a squared end on the tail.

Before I left the boat launch to start fishing, a man came over by me. Told me he caught 3 bass in 6 hours. Said he caught them at 7am approximately, one after the other almost, really close, then fishing died down from that point on.

I headed out and used a blue and silver Garland jig and about the third cast I caught a bass. Within the next half hour I caught two more, then moved to a different spot and caught another one...all on the same jig.

You can reel them in slow, and with the Z03 reel, it is a perfect match..at "cruising speed" on the reel, it swims it just right and I enjoyed myself today.

The water was way way down, and the outlook was not good but I managed to catch some fish.

Ive been using the stroller jigs for a couple years now. They are a soft plastic with lots of tail action.

That's the one!
A slow short day is still a glorious day.
