Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

i saw these in a fly shop the other day and was thinking how these might work for bluegill jigs.  i change jigs quite a bit while fishing usually and its a pain to re-tie on small line with my progressievely bad eyesight.

anyone ever use them? opinion?

thanks

They are tiny and i find them hard to work with but use to use them for small ice fishing Jigs .Maybe i should try again .

I use them regularly. I suggest using a hemostat to change jigs.

...yep... the tool for the job

ah , gotta try that yes too small for fingers ,especially in the cold ! Sounds like a great tip!

...they are a great aid for swapping out micro jigs... especially ice fishing.

like badgerloader stated hemostats work well... ice fishing i always have the hemostats out to load waxies on the jig also... slippery waxies with cold hands ... a son of a gun!

thanks guys, i figured they would work well to keep a jig horizontal by vertical jigging.

do they work well for casting jigs too....would it be almost the same as tying directly on?

I have some but never used them... curious if they spook the fish or not.

Hey SLIP...   you have mail.

I’ve been using them for year for both ice and open water. They don’t hold the jig vertical but for the most part I really don’t think it makes a difference
