Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I know members come from various parts of the nation, so what do YOU consider a Big Bluegill?

I frequently see pictures and reports of 'gills that dwarf the ones I catch here. I personally consider anything over 9" to be worthy of recognition in the waters I usually fish. The public access waters here give me 8" 'gills fairly frequently, but I usually have to seek out privately owned ponds & lakes to catch anything much bigger than that.

I've had to photo-shop enlarge all the BG that I have caught over 8 inches...(don't tell anybody).

To all you big 8 to 10 inch BG catchers, please enjoy the next one you catch a little extra for me!  My day is coming, however.

Does anybody need a fishing partner?

Big bluegill are the hardest of freshwater fish to consistently catch. The guys that do it aren't doing it by luck.

I got a nine incher this time. It's about the biggest I've caught, not the biggest in existence, but pretty good for such a featureless lake like mine.

nice vid Damon... looked like a nice day to be out on the lake.
