I use crank baits all the time and it works.
what are crank baits?
Drift with a drift sock if you're in a boat.If on shore I like fishing the section of the lake the high winds are blowing to and casting into the wind with the lightest spoon I can get away with. Tip the spoon with bait and work it with twitches and varying retreive speeds through the column of water .
look for shelter from the wind like a lot of people said before me. where you go the fish should be because they dont like choppy waters i dont think. whenever its windy i just use a live worm and let it sink all the way to the bottom nothing fancy and just be patient on those windy days.
