Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

can anyone suggest some effective cranbaits for gills?   i've a few but am not familiar with all the newer stuff on the market.  i'm well stocked with the smallest rapalas and some crawdad patterns.  thanks.

I try to give good advice when asked and try to back it up if I can. I used a white Strike King Bitsy Minnow today and it delivered a couple of big bluegill and a few bass out of cold water so Rich for early season fishing I like the white SKBM.

BITSY MINNOW IS  A GREAT BAIT !  GREAT GOING KEITH;  A REAL NICE ONE

I'll have to test these out what lines are you casting them on and what rods. I'm in search of a dedicated micro crankbait setup right now

I have been using Mr. Crappie 4# mono and Stren Original  4# mono. As far as rods go I use what ever I can find cheap preferably used. Small spinning reels and spincasters that I find are good choices as long as they cast these smaller baits.

I use Trout Magnet SOS line in 2lb and 4lb... It has been a great line. Smooth casting very low stretch and almost no memory. Not to mention it is a smaller than standard diameter. The green color is almost invisible in the water. Ive landed several trout over 18in. on my 8' 6" UL rods...
Anyone playing with the Matzou Nano line of lures? I've ordered some to play with all are 1-2"

A new twist  on mini crank baits. I broke the lip off this one so I ground it off smooth. So without the lip it floats nicely, I loaded  it with a earthworm and got a bluegill to take it off the top.

THERE GOES KEITH;;  ALWAYS  MAKING NEW THINGS TO TRY OUT !  GOOD IDEA KEITH !!
