Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Some people already know this, but for those that do not.. Get a coffee mug of almost boiling water, (2 minutes in the microwave) and dip just the tail portion of your curly tail grub into the hot water for about 30 seconds.  Use something to hold the bait so you don't burn your fingertips, like tweezers or pliers.   What this hot water has done is that it softens the plastic tail of this bait so it will have much more action and movement in the water,  especially with a very slow retrieve.  I boil all my new curly tail worms and grubs, especially the little tiny ones that normally have no action except at a fast high speed retrieve.  You can also use hot coffee, fresh out of the thermos while on the lake, but it has to be quite hot.  And don't worry, it won't hurt the coffee or the taste of it.  I've done this many times..
