Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

hey its not a new idea... many fisherman rig these variations in different ways here's one of my favorite ways to rig. great way to get some reaction strikes out of a school or fishing in tinted or cloudy water. the snap is important it gives distance from the blade to the jig head and body.

i usually use snaps when UL jig fishing... it adds flash in many case with silver colored snaps and it gives that little bit more rocking action to the bait.

slip stinker;; I have tried this method a few times;;  just didnt work for me;; might try it again sometime

Yep... I don't do this too much Carl ... today it was the difference of being skunked or not with a decent pike. The water turned cloudy from the fall turnover... this added a little flash.

I did this a couple years ago before dusk the crappie bite quit on us then picked back up again when I added a little bit of flash.
When your bored on the bank and the fish aren't coming in I start re- rigging. Fun stuff

This particular setup looks great in the water... looks much like a road runner… so far ive had success with SMB,Crappie, N.Pike and Y.Perch

20151009– more fish in the a.m. bite with the UL jigs and Bling…

when something is working on the fish ... i leave it on the rod till it stops producing. took 3 rods down to the bridge with setups from the other day with the lil bling spinners in front of the jig some attached in the snap. produced well in a short time... bonus white bass on the Jelly Jig.... these fish like the flash. two small smb.

20151009-WIXOM LAKE~ late a.m. Bite all on UL Jigs and Bling

20151116 - notched it up a bit and used a 3" Berkley Power Minnow with the BPS #1 willow leaf bead and snap combo to fool a small N.Pike bite lost two others to bite-offs.

Nice catches with your 'Bling and Jig'!

Hildebrandt 'June Bug Spinner ' with plastic Crayfish added and homemade spinner rig with 2" Keitech 'Easy Shiner' gorilla glued to hook .Great multi species small stream setups with 4# test spinning rod . http://bigbluegill.com/photo/p1012996?context=album&albumId=203...
