Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I guess it is tying season for me now as we should be getting snow here in the next few weeks. This is usually the time of season I start tying for the following spring season of fishing.....Also building what ever rods I want to make for myself and others.

I've included some photo's of my favorite spring time patterns that I have made and been making for a long time.

Menu is 94840 Mustad dry fly hooks on all three patterns here
White yarn tails on first one , Blue New age chenille ( medium size) . 1/8th inch beads and some red crystal flash added to tail.
Second is a Yellow and red Marabou Silent Stinger so named by Sir Jeffrey on here.....

Third is my all time favorite flourecent yellow ( looks chartreuse )  with red rib ....

Please all you tiers on here submit pics if ya can of your top 3-5 patterns on here so I can see what I"m missing in the way of flies .....

There are lots of tiers on here I admire and am sure to mention a few . Dick Tabbert, Carl Hendrix, and so many others like the absolute great" Sleepy ", Mark Sleeper....... I still marvel at his work and am lucky enough to have lots of his creations.......Thanks one and all for the flies you've all sent me over the years for trial and maybe will get to use some at Rendezvous in the spring.......

Without a doubt my favorite hook is the Mustad 3366. I like Cat's Whisker for bluegill. For most other fishing I like the PolyDodger streamers:

THANKS DAMON FOR ADDING THIS PHOTO ..INTERESTING FOR SURE!!!!!

tried and true rascals proved to be great fish catchers for me on my water !

Legendary for sure , NICE BUGS BUDDY !!!!!

Carl, I can't remember.  What kind of results do you have with the Rascals tied on sickle jig hooks?

I call these june bugs-- extremly deadly; either by them selves;; or especially as a dropper with a popping bug

legion bream killers-- extremly deadly as droppers with popping bugs

Mark Stein - got me into making popping bugs;; a little work;; but fun to !
