Here's my best so far for 2015...right at ten inches on the black/orange Oriole jig, 1/80th oz. with a maggot below a bobber, letting the wind 'drag' the jig across the bottom in about 5 ft of water. Caught April 2nd. and released.

I think I have caught just three p-seeds in my life over 10 inches, with a 10 3/8 being the best. This was my second 10 incher from this particular water.

Great fish Jim!

20140826– 2014 Master Angler P'Seed at 9.4"…

Well ive been targeting this fish for well over a year and have caught dozens between 8 and 9 inches this year while doing that. Ive studied this fish and its habitat and have keyed in on that. This morning I set out with just my dropshot rod and my micro light slip bobber rod. The night previous while studying some lake maps I set some new waypoints to fish along with some old favorites. The new way points consisted of inside bend to original creek channels. The first and I thought the best waypoint proved to be dirty with littered branches stumps and overhangs. Pulled a few jumbo pseeds out of the junk along with some quality gills. Lost a lot of hardware and thought about floating a slip bobber over the mess. BINGO! After another quality seed I catch the 9.4 incher .5 inches over my 54 year personal best!

082614-- PERSONAL BEST AND MASTER ANGLER SIZED P'SEED OF 9.375"

20150930 ~ Its verified and in the books! My P’Seed at 9.0” is verified and certificate is in the mail.

To top it off it was caught on my Birthday… what a gift. The fish was caught drop shotting the original lake edge of a small reservoir. The electronics of the Elite 7 HDI allowed me to create a precise pinpoint map of the lake bottom in 1-0’ increments earlier last season. Down scan imaging showed wood, stumps and debris along this edge. Casting parallel with the lake edge I scratched the structure with my UL drop shot setup loaded with a GULP (you guessed it… lol) Pink Waxie until this fish was tagged and brought to boat. I knew as the fish was lifted from the water it was a trophy and possibly a Certificate fish… careful measuring by pinching the tail brought the fish into certificate spec. Pictures were taken and the fish was quickly released to fight again. This memory will forever be etched in my mind. 2

with many congrats to your certifcation slip stinker !!  you worked hard for it buddy !

thanks Carl... one of the main reasons i fish is for the therapy... the anticipation of achieving certificates and trophies gives me the psychological ambition to actually drive me off the couch and on to the water. i really appreciate what Michigan has to offer in this program and might be a notch or two above most other states.
