took a walk down to the lake to do a little shore fishing I looked around me Whitecaps, weed trimmings floating on the surface of the water and weed harvesting going on around me... fishing would undoubtedly fail.

Tomorrow's weather isn't going to get any better. I've become a fair weather fisherman out of a kayak lol.

20150825- ...------<")))))><(

58 degrees and feeling like October...

not one bite at the bridge...

20150825- this is very tough to write but here goes... The day started out at the bridge without a bite. So I took it further and took the kayak out to the launch. As I was prepping the kayak for launch the herbicide company controlling the weeds posted a notice concerning the herbicides dispensed... Great! I thought they were only harvesting! I launched anyways remembering the words my dad used to say to me "fishing the bad days will only make you a better fisherman". The day was cold and I'm on a sit top kayak great when sunny and warm not so bad on the in between type of days like we're experiencing right now in Michigan... 60's with sporadic drizzle and showers not so good. Its shorts and hoodie time in Michigan.

Start off with a just sub 8 inch gill... Not so bad I thought... But that was it ... No other bites. Checking the water temp revealed a drop in water temps to the tune of about 10 degrees. This at first causes negative fish behavior. So I fish deeper at some known waypoints and end up empty. Weed control and significant drops in temp sends me back to the launch. On the way back I make a few casts in 4 ft deep waters and accidentally drop my new fish grips overboard... Seeing them lying on the sandy bottom I reach for my landing net and knock the Note II overboard!... Nice!!!!... I jump in and retrieve both. I discover its tough getting back into a kayak once overboard.

I rush home and suction the moisture out of the phone and seal in a bag of minute rice... Easily tops the bad memory's of fishing list for me.

slip stinker;; i went out today to;; first 2 to 3 hours;; NOTHING !!  moved to a different spot;; found them !!

is it just me or are bluegills getting harder to find

20150826- ...------<")))))><(

... well maybe after yesterdays escapade i wont touch a fishing rod for the day... lol

or a cell phone

20150826- Today marked the anniversary of my Master Angler P'Seed... what a great landmark in my fishing career. A huge amount of effort went into capturing this quarry throughout the summer period of 2014 and nailing it towards the end of the August. A lot of the credit goes towards the use of the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI, the use of the GULP Pink Maggot and the knowledge obtained thru time on the water developing the pattern.

This season I’m at a great disadvantage to duplicate this feat as well as other panfish species without my boat rig as well as the physical handicap i live with (not getting any better). I have not given up trying… I walk to shoreline fishing spots as well as dragging the kayak to a private launch site. Covering large quantities of productive water is at a disadvantage so my chances of scoring the Master Angler Certs are significantly lower. The quests go on regardless of the hardships thrown at me.

hate to hear you dropped your note pad over board;;  hopefully it will  dry out in a few days..   weather can definitly  influence fish bites !!

cell phones and fishing dont mix well with me. i have a history of dropping them in the water.

i got it in a sealed container with minute rice right now and its revived them for me in the past. this particular phone is on its third dunking.

i really need to invest in a good durable waterproof camer just for fishing. got one picked out on amazon but i havnt pushed the button.
