Do you love big bluegill?
Why I love Lake Manatee
Main reason is I catch fish. Lots of fish. The lake has some big bluegill, bass, shellcracker, speckled perch and channel catfish. The best thing is I usually have it to myself. Most folks think she's too tough. But she's not -- once you learn the nuances.
One trip last week resutled in more than 100 fish, includingn 103 bluegill, five shellcracker, three bass and four channel catfish.
Top flies included my Myakka Minnow, nymphs and poppers.
