Do you love big bluegill?
PATTERN
1-bluegills are schooled along 4 – 8ft weedy flats
2 Bluegills along edge of weeds shallow or deep
3-use wherever you would use a bobber and bait
RIGGING
1- Light spinning tackle 1000 or 2000 series Spin reel
2- 7ft light action rod Okuma Celilo with 8lb braid
3-
a) for a slip bobber rig you will need your slip knot, slip bobber, glass bead preferred between bobber and your intermediate hook … I use a #10 or 8 laser cut eagle claw octopus for the intermediate hook tied with a Palomar knot 12 inches of line and an ice slab jig … halo, Swedish pimple or Sitka (my favorite) tied at the end … I usually use the smallest snap available tied with a Palomar knot
b) a fixed bobber I like the rocket bobber the most. … rig the hooks like above
4- Anything could be used as bait… in my most recent trips I have used GULP pink maggots or crawler segments.
PRESENTATION
Cast or drift along weed line or weedy flats anywhere gills are schooling. This rig with a slip bobber is a great search and locate rig. Very sensitive setup
… and of course this is a profile of the way I use my equipment… most times the equipment is bought to suit a special need or fulfill a certain level of “fun factor” to assemble these rigs. Individuals have their favorite brands of rods reels bait and the like… this is only meant to share where im currently at in my tweaking of rigs or setups. … and of course there is change over time. I personally enjoy taking people out and see how they fish. There is always a chance that you may pick up tips from anybody at all levels of the sport.
Good fishing ,

Nice rigging and detail! I need to try this!
As active as the bite was on Saturday I wonder if I could have gotten a few 'doubles' with the two baits! A pair of 3/4 pound gills on a micro rod would have been a hoot!
ive caught doubles twice... i have to get my go pro setup so i could catch some of that action
id say the popular bite was on the jig overall
Doubles are a thrill!
