Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hi thought I'd introduce myself with a fly.

I'm very new to tying, and fly fishing too, been fly fishing for about 2 years and tying sporadically for about a year, but have just set up a fly tying desk in my Man Cave ;) so now I'm really getting into it.

Wanted to tie a Bee/Wasp pattern for a fly swap on another board and after some searching on the web found this pattern so gave it a try.

Here's my first completed attempt, still needs some work but i was quite happy with it for a first go around.

Tied this up yesterday on a size 10 Aberdeen hook, I will try them out this weekend, see how they fish. Will let you know.

Tying instructions are here: http://globalflyfisher.com/patterns/sharks-wasp/index.php#142

I am also going to tie some up on a bigger hooks to immitate the bigger mud daubers and hornets that are around in Tampa right now, maybe a 6 or 8 for Bass

Thanks Dick, I crowded the eye a little and the head is not great but it seems pretty realistic, I thre on my wifes keyboard as she sat typing last night, her scream and jumping out of the seat, affirmed it looks real!

Hope it fishes as well as it looks!
