Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I was very luck to get invited to go fishing with Mr. Darwin Sumner yesterday, 8-22-09. Darwin is a member of the Red Lake Nation Chippewa. In order for me to go with him I needed to get a permit to fish on the reservation. Non-native people cannot fish any lakes within the boundries of the reservation, without a permit and a tribal member. I met Darwin through work. I helped to make t-shirts for his youth bass fishing leauge. He volunteers his time and knowledge of bass fishing to get the youth, that live on the reservation, more interested in fishing. He has asked me to also help out the leauge this winter with a tackle making seminar! The lake that we fished was way back in the woods. I'm talking "logging road", "two track", "ATV", type road. We pulled a 17ft bass boat down this baby! The lakes on the reservation get virtualy no pressure! The fishing was amazing and the company was even better! My newest photos are the results from the trip! Thanks again to my friend, Darwin for such a great experience! The photos are of the lake we fished at sunset and of Darwin with a nice bass!

Hey BW, I just checked out those pix of you and Darwin and it looks like you guys just had a great, great trip! How cool can it be to fish water, almost every time out, that gets very little or even no fishing pressure! Wow! Those gills sure look healthy and I am sure this was a trip of monumental, memorable proportions! Good for you guys!
Hey Pat!....Looks like you had a great trip "up north"...some very respectable gills there!.....beautiful little body of unfished waters!.....
