Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Here's something only my fevered mind would dream up.
Every angler wants to catch the big name fish. Big bass, Massive salmon, trophy bluegill, arapaima in South America (my personal quest), and so on.

But what about those other fish, the "trashy" ones we don't admire nor talk much about? If you were to target them, which ones would you go after?

In other words, what would a "Non-game Fish Bucket List" look like?

yes david the triploid as you said is used around here for controlling weeds.not supposed to fish for them but hey if they take my fly it's on.i never handle them, usually they break off or straighten the hook.i have a public quarry i fish that has 8 inch or so gills .it is at least 100 yaers old .was dug before modern machinery and is not very deep .lots of rock ledges and piles .lots of big weed beds and lilly pads.giant carp in here too.common carp up to 4o pounds or more.when they are rooting in the weed beds they leave a trail of bubbles.then you know they are there.tough to get em to bite a fly tho.

Ive got a fly pattern called the Cheesy Poof that is supposed to be a carp fly. You can look it up here:

One of these days Ill catch another carp.
