Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

For fly tyers...
Fly Tying with Common Household Materials by Jay "Fishy" Fullum: Interesting writing style & lots of good information.  A handful of fly recipes as well.

Fly Tying Strategies for Special Materials by Skip Morris: Good information here too.  I didn't like it quite as much as the one above, but it was worth the money and reading time.  Good techniques are explained and there are some fly recipes in this one too.

Non fishing related...
I am in the process of reading Bill O'Reilly's book Killing Jesus.  It was co-written by Martin Dugard.  It is a look at the life & crucifixion of Jesus from a historical rather than religious perspective.  The book provides 'the rest of the story' and/or a narrative of the history/politics of Rome and the region at that time.

He has also written similar books about the assassination of Kennedy and Lincoln.

Magazines...
Mother Earth News Guide to Self-Reliance and Country Skills: So far it has proved  interesting, but a lot of the content gives a little information and then points you to a web site - often on the Mother Earth News site.

American Frontiersman: A large number of articles.  Many provide info on bush craft skills.  Due to my lack of experience with the subject, I can't speak to the accuracy of the information.  The writing is good and it is interesting to read of folks experiences in the outdoors.

I do most of my reading on my Android tablet with the Amazon Kindle app.  Once in a while I will pick up  a paper magazine (such as the two mentioned above).

What are you reading?  Do you have suggestions for our 2014 reading list?

Bluegill ...Fly Fishing  Terry and Roxanne Wilson.

I've seen the Household Materials book, and I want to next get one that details tying flies with only three materials.

Non fishing, "Patient ZERO," by Jonathan Maberry.

Thats the one. But Im easily swayed - I might get the one you mentioned. I have a ton of books in my Alibris.com, Wishlist. I try to get one new one every 2-3 months.

I have the simple flies book and it is pretty awesome.
