Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

hey you guys sorry i havent been on in a while but i had a quick question
i dont get to fish any very good bluegill lakes very often and when i do i was wondering if you guys and gals have any thing like certain structure or signs that tip you off to the fact that there might be big gills or other sunnys.
any help is highley apriciated

in the pond i fish in ct the water temp is still really cold so all the big gills are tight to cover. they are in or around trees, weeds, stumps and any thing else. also you should watch and listen for small boils. also from experience the big gills knock around lily pad stems to get the bugs off them. i hope this helps

that is helpfull i will look for boils and moving stems.
one thing i have learned is to listen for there distinct "mpop" noise that they make when eating on the surface.

A Georgia recipe to spur bluegill bites is a road kill coon or etc. hung up in a tree.two to three days later the magots hitting the water cause a feeding frenzy. Any small white flie will work.
Well, that might bring the bluegills in Greg, but doesn't it drive the fishermen away? Wow, smelly!
