That my friend is the $64,000.00 question. Match the local forage of the carp. Depends where you fish. Imitations of crawdads, nymphs, grass, cottonwood seed, small minnows.......One of the fellas on another site tied an articulated dear hair bug with lead eyes and said it worked great on his carp. I had a fella tell me how great a Blind Squirrel worked on them. San Juan worms, Just do an internet google search and you will find quite a bit of info. I have an overflowing fly box full of patterns that have mostly gone unused because I haven't found any carp here close. I have heard of a small lake with grass carp that I intend to check out shortly.....You can also google John Montana....he has a blog on carp fishing.

Good luck and keep us posted on your success

Has anyone used the Gulp bait for gills and/or carp?.....Maybe the 'Corn' or small ' Minnows' or other versions. I seldom use bait but this is sort of an in-between type bait. Not trying to pirate the thread. It sort of follows the fly pattern theme.
