I like Sufix elite and P line flouroclear.
My favorite for bluegill and crappie is Stren 4lb Magnathin. Handles very well little memory and good abrasion resistance. FOR spawn time though, you know lots of lily pads, sticks, and junk, I put on the Fireline Crystal 4lb. I haven't lost a hook in weeks.
Different situations call for different line choices. I have been fishing alot of clear conditions this spring and have noticed that the hi-vis lines can spook picky gills and crappies when they give a good look at a lure or a bait. I picked up some Silver Thread 4 lb lo-vis mono at a fleamarket over the winter and it has been a good choice for those gin-clear/spooky fish scenarios.

In darker or tubid conditions, suchas those I encountered in Delaware, I had better luck with hi-vis blue Stren and Trielene in 4 and 6 lb test as I could better see the 'jump' or 'tick' of the line when a crappie or perch struck. When you get to be 57, you'll appreciate hi-vis lines!

I know some guys that are using Stren Sonic Braid in green at 10 lb test and attaching a flourocabon leader to avoid spooking fish. Sensitivity in the braid is a plus when strike detection is needed.

There's alot of good lines out there, but I would strogly urge you to buy quality monos in 4 or 6 lb test as a start and then go from there. If you are fishing aroung heavy cover and need to haul bull gills out of trouble then a good braid of 20 lb test and 6 lb diameter may help you out. Hope this helps! Jim
